Hi! I’m Kristin…
My path into massage therapy was an unexpected one. While studying sculpture in art school, I became fascinated with anatomy—especially the spine and nervous system—after working on a bronze casting project. That curiosity opened a door I didn’t expect. Massage therapy felt like a natural extension of what I already loved: using my hands, creating something intentional, and learning how the human body works. What began as a ‘temporary plan’ quickly became a calling. Nearly 20 years later, I’m still endlessly curious about how the body adapts, communicates, and heals — and I’ve shaped my work around helping people navigate those changes with more ease.
I opened Kristin Dupont Bodywork to offer grounded, clinically informed bodywork shaped by experience, study, and a deep curiosity about the human body. My work is intentional, and centered on helping people move with more ease—whether you're navigating pregnancy and postpartum, recovering from an injury, or navigating general built up body tension from the demands of life.
My Philosophy
I believe the body holds stories — physical, neurological, and emotional — and those layers deserve to be met with patience and respect. Real change happens when the nervous system feels safe enough to unwind, so I work slowly and intentionally, listening for what your body is ready to release rather than pushing past its limits.
I also believe that pain is your body’s way of asking for change. Modern life doesn’t always encourage us to listen — or even understand the language — so I see my role as part interpreter, part educator, part guide. Pain can feel overwhelming, but the body is remarkably adaptable. With the right support, meaningful change is possible.
Every session is a collaboration. I meet you exactly where you are that day — whether you’re pregnant and needing grounding support, navigating chronic tension from long hours at a desk, or adapting to the physical demands of an active lifestyle or caregiving. My goal is always the same: to help your system settle, your movement feel easier, and your body feel more like a place you can inhabit with comfort and confidence.
Bodywork + Movement: A Long-Term Approach
I see massage therapy as one part of a larger process.
Bodywork is a powerful complement to any movement practice — it can help release tension patterns, calm the nervous system, and help your body recognize new possibilities. But long-term change often requires movement, strength, and rebuilding patterns outside the treatment room.
While I don’t offer structured exercise or strength programming myself, I maintain a trusted network of movement specialists, personal trainers, and perinatal doulas who can support areas beyond my scope. If your body would benefit from additional guidance or continuity of care, I’ll help connect you with someone who can continue the work alongside what we do together.
Who I Support
I work with clients in Albany and the surrounding East Bay whose bodies are adapting to big life transitions, sustained work patterns, and the demands of active, family-filled lives. Most of my clients fall into one or more of these groups:
Prenatal Clients
Whether you’re in your first trimester or approaching birth, I offer grounded, supportive bodywork tailored to the physical and emotional shifts that come with pregnancy. Sessions are designed to help you feel more at ease in a body that is constantly changing.
Postpartum Clients
Recovery unfolds differently for everyone. Rather than chasing a ‘back to normal,’ I support your body as it integrates the changes of pregnancy and postpartum — easing feeding and carrying strain, supporting core and pelvic recovery, and helping your body reorganize after such a demanding transition. My aim is for you to feel steadier, supported, and more at home in your body again.
Partners, Parents & Support People
Pregnancy and postpartum impact more than just the birthing person. Partners, parents, caregivers, and doulas often develop their own tension patterns as they support loved ones and clients. I’m here for them, too—helping shift the way long days (and nights), awkward carrying and feeding positions, and the emotional load show up in the body.
Office & Tech Professionals
Long hours at a desk, constant screen time, and back-to-back meetings add up. For East Bay office and tech professionals, I help address neck, shoulder, and low-back tension, repetitive-strain patterns, and the nervous-system fatigue that comes with demanding workdays and tight deadlines.
Weekend Explorers + Active Movers
Whether your movement practice looks like hiking, paddling, surfing, climbing, cycling, keeping up with the latest pickleball craze, or simply doing your best to match the limitless energy of your toddler—your body is doing a lot for you. I work with active people who want to move with more ease, reduce flare-ups, and maintain mobility while doing all the things they love.
Why This Approach Works Across All Lifestyles
The common thread in all of these groups is this:
Your body is constantly adapting — sometimes beautifully, sometimes urgently — to meet the demands of your life.
My role is to help unwind the tension patterns that build over time, calm an overworked nervous system, and support your ability to move through your day with more comfort, clarity, and a sustainable new baseline.
If you see yourself here, I’d be honored to support you!
Massage Modalities
In each customized, therapeutic bodywork session at my Albany studio I draw from methods such as:
deep tissue & neuromuscular therapy
myofascial release
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) like decompression cupping and scrapping
gentle guided movements (on and off table)
hot & cold stones
nervous-system calming techniques
collaborative, communication-based pacing
+ Your body guides the work - how each session unfolds is determined by your goals, medical history and how you show up that day.
